Christian Bale Opens 11,000-Square-Foot Foster Care Facility

Christian Bale, the actor who played Batman, has just opened a foster care village in California called Together California. The goal of this village is to keep siblings together when they enter the foster care system, which isn’t always the case. This is really important because it can be super tough for kids to be separated from their brothers and sisters when they’re already going through a tough time.

The village is pretty amazing – it’s 11,000 square feet with 12 homes, including some apartments for kids who are transitioning out of foster care. There are over 30,000 kids in the foster care system in Los Angeles, so this village is definitely needed. The people running it want to provide a sense of community and hope for these kids, and they’re offering programs that focus on stability, support, and care. It’s meant to be a welcoming place where kids can feel safe and loved.

Christian Bale got involved in this project because he has kids of his own and was thinking about how tough it must be for kids who don’t have parents. He partnered with the executive director of Together California, Tim McCormick, to make this village a reality. They were able to raise almost $9 million in donations to make it happen, and the first residents will be moving in next month. It’s really cool to see someone using their platform to make a difference in their community like this.
